Government congratulates new Executive of the Public Workers' Union

ST. GEORGE’S, GRENADA, MONDAY 13 MARCH, 2017– GIS:  The Government of Grenada, and in particular, the Minister for Labour, Honourable Oliver Joseph, extends congratulations to Ms. Rachael Roberts and the new executive of the Public Workers’ Union, following your win at the polls on Tuesday last.

Your assumption to the leadership of the PWU is a clear demonstration of your constituents’ confidence in you and your efforts on their behalf.  It is our hope that you continue to work assiduously in the interests of all workers.

Government considers labour unions as important partners in the realisation of many common functions; most notably, the well-being of workers.

As a Government, we therefore look forward to working closely with you to continuously improve the standing of workers throughout our Tri-Island State.

Under your leadership, we also look forward, in the short-term, to a cordial and successful conclusion to this current round of wage and salary negotiations.

Our collective best wishes to the executive of the PWU as you begin a new tenure in office.
